- Bio: Obituary from the South Hamilton News, Aug. 31, 2016:Bruce Neil Tegland passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at his apartment in De Pere, Wisconsin.Bruce was born on September 14, 1950 to Emery and Betty Jane (Hanson) Tegland. He was the only son, and had two sisters. He was raised at Ellsworth, Iowa and graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1968.He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, Iowa. He was a member of the Army National Guard and successfully completed six years. He continued to farm with his father in a partnership with turkeys and grain farming after high school.He was united in marriage to Karleen Parrish in 1971, of which two children were born, Larissa and Trent. Bruce retired in 1996, and continued working doing factory work. He moved to Wisconisin in 2006 and suffered some health issues and retired from work.He did volunteer work for his church. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church of De Pere, Wisconsin. Being a grandpa to Seth and Luke Feenstra kept him busy. He was active in his apartment complex with Senior Citizen outings too.His latest and great adventure this year was the Milwaukee Brewers baseball game on August 11, of which he and Trent enjoyed and made great memories.Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; father, Emery; step-mother, Arlie, grandparents, David Charles and Bertha (Enderson) Hanson and Omar T and Malena “Millie” (Ersland) Tegland; aunts and uncles, a step-sister, and a step-brother.A private family burial will take place at Homewood. Cemetery at Ellsworth, Iowa with time and date to be determined later.
