- Betty Ann Krause, 80, Mohall, died Thursday, February 25, 2016, at her home.
She was born January 3, 1936, on a farm near Sherwood, a daughter of Oscar and Annie (Erlandson) Vig. She attended grade schools in Hamerly Township and Sherwood Elementary. She attended Dakota Lutheran High School, Minot, and graduated from Sherwood High School in 1954.
Betty married Leonard Krause on December 11, 1954. They had three children, Paul, Luann and Carole. Betty and Leonard lived and farmed for many years in Hamerly Township, Renville County. Leonard died February 19, 1977. Betty continued living on the farm until she moved into Mohall in 2011.
Betty was currently a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley. She was a former longtime member of Hamerly Lutheran Church, until it closed. She was a member of the Hamerly and Grover Homemakers, the Tolley and Mohall senior citizens and volunteered for ten years at the Trinity Homes gift shop in Minot. She always said she preferred to be alone, but you would never know by how much she enjoyed being with her family, church and bingo buddies.
Family: son, Paul (Diana) Krause, rural Sherwood; daughter, Carole (Tom) Stanley, Sherwood; grandchildren, Ashley (Cody) Ueckert, Amy (Shane) Harris, Becky (Reggie Martin) Carnduff, Christopher Hanson, Karen Hanson and Taylor Stanley; five great-grandchildren; brother, Duane (Addy) Vig, Bismarck; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; daughter and son-in-law, Luann and Lory Engeberg; and sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Albert Ness; and grandson-in-law, Brad Carnduff.
