- Bio: Gale Benedict Burley was born Aug. 17, 1942 in Fargo, ND to Gale R. and Barbara (Lisburg) Burley. He grew up on the family farm near Gardner, ND and graduated from Gardner High School. He served four years in the National Guard. On May 12, 1967, he married Kathy Parkhouse in Hillsboro, ND. They made their home in Hillsboro until 1970 when they moved to Gardner. He worked at the Farmers Union Oil in Gardner and Grandin Mfg in Grandin, ND. Scott later served as custodian and bus driver at Cass Valley North School in Grandin. In 1990, they moved to West Fargo. He worked in the meat department at the Northport Hornbachers for 19 years until retiring in 2011.
- Scott had a passion for his Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed riding throughout the area. Spending time with the family and grandkids was of utmost importance. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and baseball whether the FM Redhawks or MN Twins.
- He is survived by his wife, Kathy; three children, Russ (Brenda) Burley, Billings, MT, Cindy (Scot) Schulz, Roscoe, IL, and Mike (Katie) Burley, St. Paul, MN; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Ashley) Burley, Amber Burley, Taylor Kitzan, Zack Burley and Brock Schulz; mother, Barbara Burley, Fargo; nine siblings, Don (Donna) Burley, Gardner, Karen (Bob) Westrick, Argusville, ND, Angie (Merlyn) Heller, Detroit Lakes, MN, Roger (Sue) Burley, Walker, MN, Steve (Mary Ann) Burley, Dent, MN, Bernie Burley, West Fargo, Jim (Barb) Burley, Coon Rapids, MN, Therese (Jim) Harrington, Bemidji, MN and Barb (Eric) Olerud, Argusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
- He was preceded in death by his father and two nephews, Jesse Burley and Eric Burley.
- Visitation: Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.
- Funeral: Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.
- Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery - North, Fargo.
