- Bio: Died at the Richardson Cottage at The Crossings in Laurel Montana.
Joyce was born in Fargo ND on March 28, 1927 to August and Josephine Grund. She grew up in Fargo with six brothers and sisters: Madeline, Wallace, Burton, Jeanette, Donna and Rodney. She was the last surviving sibling. She was the middle child so she had a soft spot for the 'middle' grandkids and great-grandkids.
On January 31, 1948, Joyce was united in marriage to James W Nash and was blessed with four children: James, Russell, JoAnn and Philip. She also had 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Jim and Joyce were together for 57 years until Jim died in 2005. After their marriage, they lived in Fargo, ND, Minnesota, and finally Laurel MT in 1964. Joyce was a stay at home Mom and part-time church secretary over the years. She ended her part-time work career in 2005 after working 12 years at the Park City School Library. She really enjoyed working with the kids. When she was younger, Joyce enjoyed family camping, fishing, duck & pheasant hunting. In later years, she enjoyed crossword and search puzzles, reading, playing the piano, quilting, and especially reading her Bible. Her special joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joyce was very active in church where she taught Sunday School until she was 87. Joyce loved being with the children and sharing her faith with them. She also played the piano for church services until she was 86. She had one year of lessons when she was young and the rest was self taught with many years of practice.
Joyce is survived by her children, James (Nancy) Nash, Cheryl Nash (daughter-in-law), JoAnn Mourich and Philip (Pam) Nash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, son, Russell, and son-in-law, Roger Mourich.
We would like to thank the Richard Cottage and The Crossings for their care and compassion for Mom. It was greatly appreciated.
