- Elna H. Lickness, 89, Ruthton, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Pipestone County Medical Center, Pipestone.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 25 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton.
- Interment was at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Ruthton.
- Elna Henrietta Lickness was born July 22, 1918 to Henry and Eli (Bly) Kittelson in Ruthton. She grew up on the family farm and was baptized and confirmed at Aetna Lutheran Church in Ruthton. She attended Ruthton High School and graduated in 1935.
- She later met Dandrew Lickness and the couple were married March 15, 1947 in Tyler. The couple farmed in Ruthton and raised their family. She began working for Swifts in Marshall in 1972 and retired in 1983. Dandrew died in January of 1989 and she continued to live at her home in Ruthton.
- On Tuesday, April 15 she was admitted to the Pipestone County Medical Center after a fall in her home
.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and active in Ladies Aid, St. Mark's Circle, teaching Sunday School, mission activities and church quilting. She was a member of American Legion Post #506.
- She is survived by her children, Sharon (Garry) Hays, San Diego, Calif.; Dennis (Judy) Lickness, Slayton; Linda (David) Roxin, Balaton; Philip (Judy) Lickness, Worthington; Shirley (John) Appel, Wabasso; Patricia (Gary) Sommervold, Tracy; Ruth (Al) Bier, Woodbury; Judy (Jim) Hibma, Maple Grove and Brenda (Jim) Anderson, Fridley; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
- She was preceded in death by her husband, Dandrew; brothers, Paul (Vi) Kittelson, Vernon (Peg) Kittelson and grandson, Brian Lickness.
