- Bio: Our Mother passed away peacefully, January 21, 2019, after a brief stay at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds. She was born in Arlington, SD on September 19, 1931. She grew up in Alderwood Manor, WA and graduated from Edmonds High School in 1949.
- She married Willard A. Kunz in 1951 and had three children. They raised their family in Edmonds, WA. Barbara worked at home as a seamstress, at Grocery Boys in Lynnwood, and at the QFC contract postal station in Shoreline. She also enjoyed art, calligraphy, gardening, travel, family, and friends. She was called Nanny by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
- After 44 years of marriage, her husband passed. The following year she met her former classmate, James B. Peterson, at a high school reunion. They fell in love and spent the next 23 years living their golden years in Edmonds, WA and Surprise, AZ.
- Barbara is proceeded in death by her parents, Adrian and Margareth Larson; and siblings, Edith Hooban, Delores Carlson, Pat Gallivan, Addie Keep, Curt Larson, and Rosalie Weber.
- The family would like to thank the staff and management of Manor Care, Aegis Living of Lynnwood, Chateau Pacific of Lynnwood, Evergreen Hospice & Home Services, and Swedish Hospital in Edmonds for the loving care they provided.
- She is survived by her partner, James B. Peterson; children, Nicholas Kunz (Kang), Mark Kunz (Luanne), and Theresa Wade (Michael); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Kunz, Janelle Finlon (Jim), Amy Welch, Michael Dizon, Adriann Weymouth (Nick), and Taylor Wade (Chantal); and her 11 great-grandchildren.
- There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, February 2, 2019 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Beck's Tribute Center, 405 Fifth Ave. S., Edmonds, WA, where we will meet, eat, and share stories of Barbara's life.
