Funeral services were held for Russell Dean Larson at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 20, 1987, at Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca with the Rev. Paul Southard officiating. Organist was Betty Gourley with Carole Lewis as soloist.
Casket bearers were Kenneth Mueller, Max Schuler, Kenneth Brown, Fred Shepherd, Francis Orstad, and Chester Larson.
Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. Wolfe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Russell Dean Larson, son of Joe and Amanda Lee Larson was born June 19, 1916 near Grant and passed away November 17, 1987 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Mr. Larson graduated from Grant High School in 1934. He served in the Army Air Force during World War 11 as an instructor. He continued his interest in flying as a private pilot after his discharge from the service. He had lived in the Grant area and California before moving to Kansas City in 1950, where he was a car salesman until retiring in 1969.
Mr. Larson is survived by thee children, Judy Southhard of Forrest City, Arkansas; Joe Larson of Lenexa, Kansas, and Jesse Larson of Kansas City, Kansas; two grandchildren, one sister, Maxine Morrison of Grant; and one brother, Chester of Griswold, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Cancer Action.
