Noteringar |
- Bio: Four Ekström brothers emigrated from Sweden. In America the family name became Ekstrom. Richard Ekstrom's children changed it to Eckstrom. Alfred was first to come to America in April 1869. Carl Johan (with wife Augusta) and Per Otto, came together in January 1879. Richard came in September 1879. When their father died in 1887, Richard returned to Sweden to represent the brothers in settling the estate. When he returned, he brought his new bride (Johanna Albertina) plus his brother Per Otto's "soon-to-be" bride, (Johanna Wilhelmina). Each brother eventually came to Odin Township, Watonwan County, Minnesota to farm. Their farms were within 2 miles of each other. All four (and some of their respective families) are buried in Kansas Lake Lutheran Cemetery.
